  • Tenders are invited for Construction of Two New Temporary Schools in Baidoa District of Bay Region. I FOUNDATION, EXCAVATION & CONSTRUCTION 2 Excavate the foundation trenches for the walls (400 mm wide and 750 mm deep) as approved by an Engineer. 3 Lay at the bottom of excavated trenches a 50mm of blinding lean cement concrete in a ratio of 1:4:8 as approved by an Engineer. 4 Provision and construction of foundation stone wall. all joints between stones should be filled with cement/sand mortar with 1:6 ratio. Minimum height of the foundation wall from the Ground level is 45 cm as approved by an Engineer. III FLOOR CONSTRUCTION 1 Provide and lay a 450mm thick stone fill up well compacted and levelled as approved by an Engineer. 2 15 cm thick plain cement concrete flooring of ratio 1:3:6, floor slab should slope towards verandah as approved by an Engineer. 3 Provide 5cm cement/sand screed sloping towards the verandah with a mix ratio of 1:3 as approved by an engineer 4 Construction of door steps with stone masonry including concrete screed. Provide ramp for wheel chairs, the width of the ramp should be 1.5 M wide. All joints between stones should be filled with cement/sand mortar with 1:6 ratio as approved by an Engineer. IV CGI WALLING 1 Supply and fix pitched walling using prepainted iron corrugated sheets # 28 gauge, Saudi type, with timber roof trusses c/c 1.4m and 2.5m high king post. All the wall trusses should be anchored with 6 mm dia. bars in the concrete top beam. Flat metal sheet should be anchored where trusses and purlins meet. There should be an overlap of minimum 10cm between the two overlapping CGI sheets as approved by an Engineer. V ROOFING WORKS 1 Supply and fix pitched roofing using preprinted iron corrugated sheets # 28 gauge, Saudi type, with timber roof trusses c/c 1.4m and 2.5m high king post. All the roof trusses should be anchored with 6 mm dia. bars in the concrete top beam. Flat metal sheet should be anchored where trusses and purlins meet. There should be an overlap of minimum 10cm between the two overlapping CGI sheets as approved by an Engineer. 2 Ceiling In all 2 classrooms, Office, store and the covered verandah, provide 4mm plywood false ceilings fixed to roof, 2”x2” timber wood 60cm c/c both ways as approved by an Engineer. 3 Provide and fix 20cmx2.5cm timber fascia board under all eaves and paint and approved by an Engineer. VI WINDOWS, DOORS AND BLACKBOARDS 1 Supply and install 2 leaf CGI doors (2 x1) m. Doors should be made of 1.2mm steel sheet with 25x25 hallow box frame completed with locks, hinges and painting. Door lock-original Safety rim dead lock - 6 turns -Original as approved by an Engineer 2 Supply and install 2 leafs CGl windows, each leaf should be divided into 2 sections vertically which can be openable with external security mesh, (1.2 x1.2) m. windows should be 1.2mm steel sheet with 25x25 hallow box frame including locks, hinges and painting as approved by an Engineer. 3 Provide and fix 9mm blackboards (1mx3m) and include chalk holders in the middle of the wall at 1 meter above the concrete floor as approved by an Engineer. VII PLASTERING & PAINTING WORKS 1 Plaster foundation with 1:3 c/s mortar as approved by an Engineer. 2 Whitewash foundation and walls as well as exposed verandah beams. 2 coats as approved by an Engineer. 3 Apply 2 coats of emulsion painting on foundation walls both internal and external sides of classrooms as approved by an Engineer. 4 Add visibility in the size of 200cm x120cm well painted on the School by drawing the logos of the Funding agency and that of the implementer GREDO with the year of the project as approved by an Engineer. D Construction of Twin Latrines I FOUNDATION EXCAVATION & CONSTRUCTION 1 Excavate latrine pit 3m x2m x4m deep 2 Excavate foundation for pit slab 2m deep (11.6mx0.4mx2.05m deep) 3 Excavate foundation for stone wall foundation 0.8m deep 4 Lay at the bottom of excavated trenches 50mm of blinding lean concrete (1:4:8) 5 Construction of 40cm thick stone masonry foundation walls supporting pit slab (2m deep) using 1:6 c/s mortar. 6 Provision and construction of foundation stone wall. all joints between stones should be filled with cement/sand mortar with 1:6 ratio. Minimum height of the foundation wall from the Ground level is 20 cm as approved by an Engineer. II CONCRETE WORKS 1 Ground beam- Providing and laying 15 cm thick cement concrete mix ratio (1:2:4) including formwork, Provide 3 nos of bars of Y 10mm steel reinforcements with y6mm links at 30cm c/c as directed by an Engineer. 2 Top ring beam- Providing and laying of 15 cm thick cement concrete mix ratio (1:2:4) including formwork, Provide 4 nos of bars of Y 10mm steel reinforcements with y6mm links at 30cm c/c as directed by an Engineer. 3 Construction of (3.8mx2.8mx0.2m thick) R.CC cover slab- concrete mix ratio (1:2:3) with 20mm thick maximum aggregate size including formwork. Provide Y12mm steel @200mmc/c both ways, provided with a (500 x 500mm) cleaning manhole or desludge. Including flushing the parts of foundation wall above the ground level. III FLOOR CONSTRUCTION 1 Provide and lay a 200mm thick stone fill up well compacted and levelled as approved by an Engineer. 2 15 cm thick plain cement concrete flooring of ratio 1:3:6, floor slab should slope towards door as approved by an Engineer. 3 Construction of door steps with stone masonry including concrete screed. Provide ramp for wheel chairs, the width of the ramp should be 1.8 M wide. All joints between stones should be filled with cement/sand mortar with 1:6 ratio as approved by an Engineer. 4 Construct N.o.s 2 Toilet footrests by the size of 50cmx50cm, and at least 20cm high and install 6" delivery pipe @45degrees well as approved by GREDO engineer 5 Construction Hand washing Basin Blocks No.s 2 6 DRAINAGE. Excavate and lay adequate soil water (sewage using 6 inch dia pipe) piping from the all 2 Hand washing basins, including inspection chambers / manholes to the Septic tank.as approved by an Engineer 7 Provision and installation of 3 inch PVC vent pipe(3m high from the pit slab with fly screen) vent pipe should be at least 20 cm below the pit slab, and fixed firmly on the adjacent wall IV BLOCK WALLING 1 Construction of 20 cm thick hollow concrete block walls with cement/sand mortar 1:4 ratio as approved by an Engineer. 2 Construct N.os 2, size 450x450mm ventilation grills completed with paintings as approved by GREDO engineer 3 Provide pre-cast concrete 15cm thick and 20cm wide, 1.5m long on top of the two doors. Provide 3Y10mm bars. Use 1:2:4 mix ratio V ROOFING WORKS 1 Supply and fix roofing using prepainted iron corrugated sheets # 28 gauge, Saudi type with timber roof rafters c/c 1.4m. VI DOORS 1 Supply and install 1 leaf doors (2 x0.8) m for latrines. Door should be made of 1.2mm steel sheet with 25x25 hallow box frame completed with locks, hinges and painting. Door lock-original Safety rim dead lock -Original as approved by an Engineer VII PLASTERING & PAINTING WORKS 1 Plastering external and internal walls with 1:3 c/s mortar as approved by an Engineer. 2 Whitewash external and internal walls. 2 coats as approved by an Engineer. 3 Apply 2 coats of gloss painting on block walls both internal and external sides as approved by an Engineer. 4 Add visibility in the size of 200cm x200cm well painted to one face of the unit by drawing the logos of the Funding agency and that of the implementer GREDO with the year of the project, and provide latrine segregation sign as approved by an Engineer.
