- Context: WFP-s operation in SomaliaUN-WFP Somalia is currently operational in Somaliland, Puntland, Central, Banadir and South regions with Area Offices (AO) established in Hargeisa, Garowe, Mogadishu and Dolow and Galkayo with sub-Offices in Baidoa, Berbera, Kismayo, Belet-Weyne and Bossaso. Despite WFP being active in certain areas, parts of its operational areas are considered inaccessible or having intermittent accessibility to UN staff by the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). This restricts or limits the ability of WFP staff to monitor, conduct assessments and/or research in those areas.WFP outsources monitoring of ongoing operations to third party monitoring service providers who either have operations already set up in these areas or are willing to set their operations up for this purpose. These service providers will mainly be responsible for monitoring of ongoing operations on behalf of WFP. The nature, scope, and objectives of this service is summarised in the EOI document.
