- The United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) has a mandate to provide logistical support to the African Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), provide administrative and operational support to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) as well as provide logistic and life support to the Somali National Army (SNA) on joint operations with ATMIS.In line with Security Council resolution S/RES/2628 (2022), inviting UNSOS to promote a positive legacy of the mission and reminding the mission of the Secretary-General-s call for field operations to shift to renewable energy by 2030, UNSOS wishes to explore options to outsource its energy supply in a way that can support the growth of local/national renewable energy capacity that can be sustained past the mission-s deployment.In particular, UNSOS wishes to identify potential Energy Service Providers (ESPs), with existing or planned energy infrastructure, who can sell electricity in Mogadishu that initially includes a minimum share of renewable energy of 15% and that will increase to 45% within two (2) calendar years after an agreement is established with UNSOS.
